Your aftercare guide

Keep Your Hair
The Way It Left.

Extensions are an investment. Treat them like one.

Daily habits

Washing, Brushing & Sleeping

Washing

  • Use sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner
  • Wash in a downward motion — no rough scrubbing at the roots
  • Don't pile hair on top of your head in the shower

Brushing

  • Use a soft-bristle or loop brush
  • Always start from the ends and work your way up
  • As extensions grow out, hold the base before brushing to avoid pulling on your biological hair
  • Brush before washing and before bed

Drying

  • Never sleep on wet hair
  • Blow dry fully before bed
  • Always use heat protectant before any heat styling

Sleeping

  • Sleep on a satin pillowcase to reduce friction and tangling
  • Wear a satin bonnet if you move around a lot in your sleep
  • Braid or loosely tie hair before bed if it tangles easily
Products

What To Use — And Where

Sulfate-free products only — sulfates break down the bonds over time
Avoid heavy silicones and buildup-causing products at the root and weft area
Oil your extensions daily — start at the ends and work your way up. Moroccan Oil Light for blondes and lighter tones, Moroccan Oil Regular for darker tones
Protein treatments are great for your natural hair — apply to your natural hair only, not the extension hair. Protein can cause dryness and stiffness in extensions over time
Sun & water

Swimming & Sun Exposure

Before getting in the water, saturate your hair with fresh water first, apply a leave-in conditioner from mid-lengths to ends, and loosely braid or bun your hair. Rinse thoroughly as soon as you get out and wash with a sulfate-free shampoo as soon as possible. Hot tubs are a hard no — the heat and chemical concentration are tough on extensions.

Avoid sunscreens containing avobenzone or octocrylene — these ingredients can discolor extensions, especially on lighter tones. Check your labels before applying near your hair
What to skip

Sleeping on wet hair
Saltwater or chlorine without rinsing after
Hot tubs
Excessive heat without heat protectant
Sunscreens with avobenzone or octocrylene
Pulling or tugging at the wefts
Brushing aggressively at the root
Staying on schedule

Your Reinstall Window

Extensions are reinstalled every 8 weeks as your natural hair grows. Clients with finer hair may need to come in slightly sooner. Staying on schedule keeps everything secure and your investment protected. Toppers follow a 4-week reinstall schedule.
